these ensemble pieces are always favourites of mine and this one is particulalry memorable as its set in a bustling italian restaurant. the mafia revenge plot came secondary (for me) to the culinary theme and the fun "fly on the wall" listening in on several random characters' conversations over dinner. mouthwatering

had its moments, but was ultimately an infomercial for the director's restaurant.

Short on locations, big on dialogue. This casually paced film almost feels like a short and has a well balanced diet of drama, humour and low key action. Quite believable and utterly enjoyable.

Louis Cropa: You know they say revenge is a dish best eaten cold. Gary Lieberman: Served. Louis Cropa: What? Gary Lieberman: Yes sir. Served cold. A small indie comedy involving a restaraunt and mobsters. Mainly about one long night in a popular New York restaraunt, where we see all sorts of people, the jerks, a critic, chefs, cooks, waiters, and some mob goombas. The food shown being made looks great, and it's hard to see without becoming hungry. A fun movie with some quirks to make it better along the way.

Finally! A film about NY Italians that don't kill each other over business... oh wait. Drat.
