This is the sort of film where you enjoy the cast even though the running time becomes a bit of a snore.

Wait, is this a joke? One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Very slow, and even more boring!!! It just drags on and on and on. The whole time I was contemplating turning it off, and now I wish I did. What a waste of time!

"The Surface" has such fine performances in it from Mulkey and Astin that you wish the filmmakers had trusted them more, letting them bring the film back to shore on their own.
