More of a mood peice thatn anything else. There's not much plot, dialogue or any real events to speak of but it's hypnotic.

For three films now, Van Sant has been hard-selling a form of cinema absentia, where the action that transpires offscreen is as important as what happens inside the frame.

A beautiful, meditative, Blake-influenced work of poetic strength. It's the exact type of film Cobain would've loved. In Van Sant's top three films, easily. A stunning masterwork; Michael Pitt is outstanding and Savides tracking shots give you a natural high.

Non seulement un des meilleurs de van Sant mais un des meilleurs film de notre Ã©poque. Aucune romantisationn de la mort. Il n'y a que la scÃ¨ne ou son Ã¢me sort de son corps qui me rÃ©pugne au plus haut point. Mais le reste, wow.
