Wes Anderson didn't direct this, but he sure left his mark as producer. Anderson's type of films are just perfect in my mind. Simple, effective, and moving. This is one honest movie. Some might find it to be....too honest, most might find the scenes with the younger child hard to watch, but that's what being honest is all about. The end doesn't give a total conclusion, but it's moving. Jeff Daniels was incredible.

One of my favorite indie's in recent years. I grew up in a disfunctional family so this movie automatically caught my attention. I thought it had some terrific acting, not just from the old pros like Jeff Daniels and Laura Linney but equally good acting from the younger people in the film. Loved it.

A great movie about something almost everyone can relate too, the dysfunctional relationship between parents and children. I loved how all these characters are depicted. Nobody's perfect and they all do things that are considered odd or immoral, much like people really are

Most movies don't even try to be this good because they know it takes way too much work. If you're tired of the usual story arch that is way too predictable watch this film. The ending is perfect. A flawless closing argument to a well written essay. The characters, acting, and directing are all top notch.
