The Spirit is in my opinion a very enjoyable movie. Based on comics,and it looks like comics, and visually very dirrerent from most movies. I have never read this comic, and surprisingly I did not find it hard to follow the story, cause usually when movies are made of comic book material it's very complex and vast. The Spirit have cool action and some comedy too...and not to forget....some beautiful women too.

This movie was bad, but it was bad in a hilarious sort of way. I would watch it again for all of the laughs. I don't understand why people don't consider it a comedy. I mean... Samuel L. Jackson with a dentist chair and a Nazi flag? Are you serious? Hahaha...

Damn shame it's PG-13. The movie is basically the dream of an 11-year-old boy, complete with terrible dialog and the dad from "The Wonder Years" as the main cop. The lighting is amazing, Jackson is great, Johansson and Mendes are stunning. Funny kitsch but I can see why people rated it so low. Sketches accompany the entire end credits.

AND THIS IS FOR MUFFINS! This movie is funny, not much else. It's dark and somber narrative is sharply cut and contrast by it's utterly lamentable dialogue which I found utterly comedic. Even the fight scenes were a great source of laughs. Nobody really liked this movie, I can't blame them, but they should've gone into the theater with the mindset that we're about to see a comedy.

This was an excellent film, but I feel it was very misunderstood. First of all, its a comedy. It parodies a number of comic books and their film adaptations. If you just realise that it is intentionally ridiculous and don't get strung up on the cheesy plot, you'll see that this film is a masterpiece.
