The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming! (1966)

When a Soviet submarine gets stuck on a sandbar off the coast of a New England island, its commander orders his second-in-command, Lieutenant Rozanov, to get them moving again before there is an international incident. Unless you speak Russian, you might never know what the Russians in this movie are saying. Next to nothing was known about the Soviet Union at that time; facts were skewed with fiction and propaganda. This movie was so brilliantly cast - I adore all the actors in this, especially Carl Reiner and Alan Arkin. Watching the landing party of a beached Russian submarine sneak through the town of a small island was hilarious, as the inhabitants panic over the quickly-spreading tales of a Russian invasion.

Only saw the last hour, but still, the ending itself would make it worth trying to see the rest. Why couldn't it really be like this??

A Comedy set in Cold War America where a bunch of non-Communist, America-admiring Russians get stranded in America. Led by Alan Arkin and Eva Marie Saint, the all-star cast make this one one for the ages!

Funny and really creative. What would YOU do if enemies accidently landed in your town and are trying to get out before the coast guard is informed. Alan Arkin is great as the Russian who leads the team ashore.

probably one of the funniest movies around
