This film was incredible ... in a sea of superheroes , kids' animation films, and films full of CGI.... this film was a character study ! Rob Pattinson and Guy Pearce were both totally unrecognizable in their parts. They inhabited the mean loner and slow bullied , Southern American kid to a tee. It is their interaction that IS the film . The Rover is dark, violent, but uncompromising. David Michod;s second film after Animal Kingdom is fresh, bleak, and though-provoking. Let it wash over you to sink in . The film is a little MadMax, Apocalyse Now, and Of Mice and Men.

Pattinson played as suburban retarded boy, Pearce playing as mysterious, skillful man. I like both their performances. I like the message, i like the execution, i like that Michod trying to always shocking us in his plot. Every minutes of "The Rover" is always about the process, which is make me very like it. Absolutely 5 stars !

I was a little scared about seeing this movie since I am not a fan of gore and gratuitous violence, but I was convinced to see it. So glad I went. If you want a feel good movie, this is probably not it. But if you appreciate the art of movies you have to see it. Slow paced but never boring it showcases performances by Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson that are award worthy. More than that though I makes you think and feel. Days later I can't get it out of my head. More people should take a chance on something different. They might like it.
