An absolutely stunning piece of filmmaking that thrills in the tradition of films like No Country for Old Men that slowly introduce us to characters in such a way that it feels as though we genuinely "meet" them. Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson both enhance this effect with their unwaveringly good performances. The musical score is an eerie masterpiece. David Michod's direction is tireless and at times savage. He's definitely in-your-face and in a compelling way.

Michôd delivers yet again. Animal Kingdom was an amazing film, but The Rover surpasses it. The slow pacing, amazing acting and raw, but extremely beautiful cinematography give a mesmerising experience to the viewer. I am absolutely convinced that Michôd is headed for greatness, even though he does not care if his movies are appealing to the grand masses. He is a very unique director, and The Rover is a very, very unique masterpiece.

What is worse than a tragedy? A tragedy nobody cares about. This is the main theme running through out the Rover. Through bleak visual poetry, minimalist narrative and profound performances from both Pearce and Pattinson, The Rover solidifies itself as a post-apocalyptic masterpiece.

This was a great film that makes you think about relationships and isolation. I truly enjoyed the performances and cinematography, not to mention the script by Michod was fantastic. All in all a must see.
