The Reptile (1966)

Harry and Valerie Spalding arrive in the remote Cornish village to an unwelcoming and suspicious population. Harry's brother dies suddenly, bitten by a lethal reptilian bite. They befriend a young woman Anna whose tyrannical father controls her life and, as they discover that others in the village have suffered a similar fate, their investigations lead to Anna. What they uncover is a victim of the most terrifying legacy... a destiny of mutilation and murder.

small budget, but creepy...and you'll never realise how good Hammer could make silk purses out of sows eras....watch and enjoy!

Guys go green with epilepsy, a guy really fucking hates the sitar and some other dude wanders around gawking. You get a cool monster at the end, so 2 points.

Vuonna 1966 valmistunut englantilainen kauhuelokuva "The Reptile" esittelee perusvampyyrien sijasta vaihteeksi melko mielenkiintoisen ja komeasti toteutetun hirvion, itamaisen kirouksen aikaansaaman liskonaisen, jonka purema kylvaa kuolemaa cornwallilaisessa pikkukylassa. Valitettavasti juoni on tasapaksu ja tapahtumat rullaavat eteenpain turhan ennalta-arvattavasti. Ei Hammer-studioiden parhaita elokuvia.

Classic Hammer Horror which is well acted & directed & features an excellent & unique creature. After inheriting a Cornish cottage Ray Barrett & Jennifer Daniel relocate to it much to the chagrin of the locals who warn them off. It appears there is much more to the stories of something out and about on the moors at night than is first believed. Tense throughout & some wonderful moments at its climax, this remains a solid movie that has aged very well.

Not one of hammer horrors film best efforts. Lets just say I had to watch this in two sittings as I fell asleep half way through the first time.
