I can't believe I put off seeing this movie for so long. I was inspired to get the boxset after having seeing "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers". This is hilarious and despite the fact he isn't the main character, Peter Sellers as the clumsy Inspector Clouseau performs some of the greatest comedy ever and steals all of his scenes.

The original Inspector Clouseau movie is a terrific caper film with a great cast. This film may be too sophisticated for those who grew up watching instant gratification TV like Sesame Street and MTV and in-you-face modern comedies. The pace and subtle humor of this movie is too cool for them to appreciate.

Peter Sellers IS inspector Clouseau. In my personal opinion, the Peter Sellers movies are funnier than the Steve Martin remake. Though a funny guy, Sellers is also a talented actor.

A sublime goofy dectective comedy justified by the effortless perfomances by the lovely Capucine and David Niven cast, all too often, as the gentleman thief. Highly recommend this classic piece of Edwards.
