The Pianist (2002)

The true story of pianist Władysław Szpilman's experiences in Warsaw during the Nazi occupation. When the Jews of the city find themselves forced into a ghetto, Szpilman finds work playing in a café; and when his family is deported in 1942, he stays behind, works for a while as a laborer, and eventually goes into hiding in the ruins of the war-torn city.

A haunting, powerful and intense film containing oscar worthy acting and is possibly the best Roman Polanski has ever done.

One of the greatest movies ever made, it is so real you just cant imagine this is real. I like the fact they had the Russian's taking over Germany at the end. Considering that 27 million Russian's died to defeat Germany and win the world's worst war, the end adding that important piece of history of the Russian's taking down Germany was important to me to love the film.

This movie is very moving and sometimes shocking. It portrays the horrors of Nazi-occupied Poland extraordinarily well and it can be very profound.

Extremely well-done movie set during the holocaust. . Surviving the holocaust through the gifted talent of the piano. Teens and families should watch this together.
