this was a shockingly brilliant film that my mum bought. this was a great music experience, and i now know why it went down in history as one of the best classical musicals of all time. a definite must-see.

Just because a movie is made a gazillion years ago doesn't mean you shouldn't watch it. I loved this musical. Cute songs, great filming, and cute Ron Howard. He was like, five in this movie. He played a child with a really bad lisp. He was simply adorable.

From the opening, "Cash for the merchandise--Cash for the Buttonhooks", I'm hooked until the end of this movie. Wonderfully memerable songs, great acting and, most of all, the longing we all have to wish we could live in River City, Iowa at the turn of the last century. My second favorite musical ever, after "The Wizard Of Oz".
