One of my top 100 movies - Orson's best even beats Kane and that's with abotu 200 mins missing

It amazes me that more people haven't seen or heard of this film. This was Welles' masterpiece - even better than Kane - and it breaks my heart that we'll never see the real thing. Instead, we've got a disjointed studio edit that is still one of the best films in history: the sweeping long takes, the stunning cinematography, Agnes Moorehead's performance, the ballroom scene, that "yachtsman" line. This is a movie made for those who love the art of cinema.

Esta pelÃcula de Welles, lo mismo que 'El Leopardo' de L.Visconti o 'How green was my Valley' de J.Ford, son de ese tipo de peliculas que nos dejan un aire nostÃ¡lgico contagiado por los personajes que sufren la pÃ©rdida de un Ã©poca o la transformaciÃ³n de Ã©sta por los inexorables cambios del tiempo y la sociedad.
