Guns of the Magnificent Seven (1969)

When Mexican revolutionary leader Quintero is left to rot in jail by the forces of President Diaz, it's up to his subordinate, Max, to bust him out. With $600 in hand, he crosses the border into America and hires Chris Adams, a mercenary of considerable skill, who uses the rest of the cash on more hired guns. After the team is rounded out by experts on close-combat fighting, explosives, and knife-throwing, they set off to free Quintero.

Solid western. Not a sequel as much as it is a remake in a way. Bernie Casey and Joe Don Baker were amazing together and you really get to seem them work well before they get real famous.

It's testament to Kennedy that this doesn't suck completely. Adequate western that steals the idea of a definitive movie without doing it justice.

I own this in a four movie pack along with: * The Magnificent Seven (1960) * Return Of the Magnificent Seven (1966) * The Magnificent Seven Ride! (1972)
