Funny story, good acting, and it's hilarious. i don't know why it's getting low reviews so far, I thought it was a great movie. Based off a true story too.

The Late Bloomer has a premise that works and a cast that seems at least acceptable. Unfortunately, like so many modern comedy films, The Late Bloomer squanders its potential on a generic plot and a raunchiness that isn't even used effectively for laughs. I scarcely laughed at all and frankly, near the end of the film, when poor male choices are essentially chocked up to genetics and horniness, I actually got a little frustrated. The Late Bloomer is a dated commentary on sexual expression and in a film world where directors are finally getting to unravel some of our absurd notions about sexual expressions, The Late Bloomer is clearly late to the party. The movie is as bland as the main character's suit choices and with no laughs to boot. A clear miss.

The whole idea of this movie seemed like a lot of fun but the execution was very disappointing. I felt that, at times, the actors were trying too hard to make a scene funny and it ended up not working. The pacing was ok but the movie falls short overall. NOT GOOD, 2/5 OR 4/10

Kumail Nanjiani's "Anniversary Raunch" sub-plot is funnier than the main premise. Brittany Snow is fetching. Johnny Simmons' acting is intelligent and sensitive, but he doesn't have enough material to work with. Harmless fun, not as funny as one would hope.
