the best Lovecraft film without Jeffrey Combs in it. Funny, irreverent, sexy (if you're into fish rape) and completely rewatchable.

For Lovecraft fanatics there is plenty to enjoy in this horror-comedy (how 'bout that Cthulhu Dinosaur animated throwdown?), but the uninformed might be simply unimpressed. It's geek meets frat humor with a forced low-budget sensibility. Fun, not great, but definitely not the direct-to-dvd waster I was expecting. Not VF.

Okay. Only a nerd would love this movie. In particular--an H.P. Lovecraft nerd. Now, I know of him and I'm familiar with some of his stories, but I'm not well versed in the ways of Lovecraft. I do love Cthulhu, though. This movie was better quality than I anticipated--I suppose that's something positive. It was actually quite quirky and fun. Most of the acting bombed pretty horribly, but some of it was awesomely bad. I wouldn't recommend this to most people, but if you're a Cthulhu enthusiast, go for it.

Much more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

"I'm stuck in the nerd black hole."-Jeff Lovecraft And that sums up the movie. Goes well with FANBOYS.
