Dr. Henry Armitage, an expert in the occult, goes to the old Whateley manor in Dunwich looking for Nancy Wagner, a student who went missing the previous night. He is turned away by Wilbur, the family's insidious heir, who has plans for the young girl. But Armitage won't be deterred. Through conversations with the locals, he soon unearths the Whateleys' darkest secret — as well as a great evil.

I was kinda disappointed with this. was too slow most of the time and then whn finally got to action it was over to quick. Did like the lighting effect for the monster at the end though.

surprisingly good. dean stockwell delivers an especially charming performance.

Very promising start because it's based on a classical tale written by the HP Lovecraft. Actors are good and young Stockwell has a spooky stare. Last half of the film is boring and predictable.
