Nobody does it like Tarantino!!! I will be a fan for life. His specific style, his flare for over the top violence, incredible storytelling and awesome characters. This film takes its time but even with a long running time I never lost interest. I thought of the scene in "Inglorious Basterds" when they are in the basement and have that tension building dialogue ensued by the crazy gun battle. That's how this film felt, much of it takes place in a snowed in cabin and the tension gradually builds. Jennifer Jason Leigh should have won the Oscar for her role, some characters feel out of place ( i.e. ) Channing Tatum, but over all very well acted. Very memorable film that had me wanting to watch it again when it was over.

This movie was more of a nostalgia piece for me. All of the actors worked off one another quite well and no one overly outweighed anyone else. This movie will conjure up old memories of these actors from their previous works. Jennifer Jason Leigh and Walton Goggins gave the most surprising performances of all. Granted they were given some of the most memorable lines of the movie to work with. The scenes involving Kurt Russell and Michael Madsen were my personal favorites. These scenes created the most intense moments of suspense and mystery for me, due to Madsen being the one fellow whose backstory I felt most obviously was a lie from the word go. Tie in some fantastic cinematography, great dialogue, and racially charged undertones and you've got yourself a very entertaining and artful movie. The ending succeeds in conveying to the audience that no matter how prolific racism can be, humanity has the ability to put it aside in the face of an adverse situation that can threaten anyone, regardless of race.

Not just the best western and not just the best Tarantino flick, my personal favorite movie of all time. Great dialogue, great acting performances, great twists, suspense, it has everything.
