A young refugee of the Sudanese Civil War who wins a lottery for relocation to the United States with three other lost boys. Encountering the modern world for the first time, they develop an unlikely friendship with a brash American woman assigned to help them, but the young man struggles to adjust to this new life and his feelings of guilt about the brother he left behind.

Kay and I enjoyed The Good Lie last night. For those who have enjoyed cross-cultural miscues, there are many opportunities to laugh and remember past discomforts. The story is a powerful story of love, endurance, and sacrifice for one another.

This movie is simply a wonderful story about a very real and immensely sad part of history. It celebrates the culture of Africa from which we Americans are far, far removed. What is nice is that it is not sad, it is touching. I commend Witherspoon for taking on new characters and moving beyond the romantic, blonde roles. The "Lost Boys of Sudan" are wonderful in their roles and portray the strong innocence that the tribal cultures impart. See this film.

Hat a great movie. I laughed, cried, was angry, happy and proud!!!! Great detail and time frame.
