The Day After (1983)

In the mid-1980s, the U.S. is poised on the brink of nuclear war. This shadow looms over the residents of a small town in Kansas as they continue their daily lives. When the unthinkable happens and the bombs come down, the town's residents are thrust into the horrors of nuclear winter.

Everyone needs to see this movie! It will horrify you and make you think for days, weeks...heck, I'm still thinking about it. I'm not sure which is scarier: the scenes of us launching or the scenes of their bombs hitting us. Watch the movie and have conversations about it.

So..WHAT IF???? I really believe this movie had a DIRECT impact on the WORLD view of an ACTUAL Nuclear Exchange. It SCARED a lot of people and soon after...reduction treaties began to get some serious consideration. THANK GOD for that!
