The Gauntlet is definitely not Eastwood's best film, but it's still a very entertaining action film no less. While the script is cliched and Sondra Locke's character can be rather annoying and stupid, the film works well because of the great performance by Clint Eastwood combined with the thrilling action scenes peppered throughout the film. It also has many moments of really funny humor thanks to the chemistry between Eastwood and his then-girlfriend Locke. I had a lot of fun with this film and it's an underrated film in Eastwood's filmography.

The Gauntlet is classic Clint Eastwood: fast, furious, and funny. It tells a cheerfully preposterous story with great energy and a lot of style, and nobody seems more at home in this sort of action movie than Eastwood.

One of Clint's best. Maybe my second favorite Clint. Sondra is EXCELLENT in this and the execution of the plot is just balls-out funny. Loved it.
