You see. When I pick up the bolex I think of this film and it makes me sad. Cassavetes made this movie with equipment similar to the stuff I'm using and he made a goddamn masterpiece.

Directing really told the story. Cassavetes is great at exposing inner conflict. More dramatic dialogue than I expected, but still very far from the norm. I knew exactly what was going on in the minds of the characters even without it.

Gritty and brutally honest like all of Cassavetes' great films. This film depicts the night a husband tells his wife he wants a divorce and what they both do as a result of this. Cassavetes very closely documents every moment of these peoples lives with such insight and brutal honesty. Of course the film leaves you emotionally exausted, but it wouldn't feel like Cassavetes if it didn't. Great film
