This is a much better movie from the vintage of AlmodÃ?Â³var's oeuvre... more superior than his previous self-indulgence KIka or Tie Me up! Tie Me Down! "The Flower of My Secret" probably the most satisfying of Almodovar's fable due to its realistic portrayal of a full blown emotional marital conflict faced by its pratagonist ...perfectly played by the gorgeous Marisa Paredes... And when i thought Almodovar couldn't surprise me anymore, there comes in one of the scene, when the pratagonist Leo tells about the story of her books...in a strange Deja Vu... only i realized it is indeed the storyline of AlmodÃ?Â³var's Volver... which he made 10 years later... Lost for words...

Nice to know almodovar can make a film without graphic sex or violence for a change, and an interesting story about finding one's voice and moving on. Highly reminiscent of Sister Sewer Rat from Dark Habits. I found it a nice change from almodovar's more savage, yet almost always poignant, works.
