This sex farce from the late 60's involves both the war between the sexes and the generation gap. Matthau is a swinging dentist suddenly set on marriage to Hawn (still in her bubbly Laugh-In ditz days) until the frump nurse who works for him begins to blossom. It's Ingrid's movie from there. Dated, sure, like when all go to a club and "I'm A Believer" is the slow jam, but that kinda adds to the charm of this star vehicle comedy of errors.

An interesting and funny comedy about lieing and trying to get out of the situation with more lying and plenty of troubles coming out of it... but also true love...

This is indeeed a (pleasantly) dated film, but even to see Bergman do comedy this film is a pleasure. I can't say that I agree with the Academy's decision to award Hawn the Oscar (as she's had other really well-done roles), but I would have to see what else was nominated that year. This is a fun romp, worth owning and plenty of future-viewings.

Did you know that Goldie Hawn won the Oscar for this movie? It's dated, but it's got some great lines. And Walter Matthau is the effing king.
