This movie was ok though but think Richard Gere wasn't suited for the role he played. Claire Danes made the movie enjoyable to watch...

Once again the Gere has impressed me with a good movie! I can't stand the man but when it's a good movie I got to say so!!! It delves into something that should be more in the public spotlight sex offenders and the dangers of these people!!! Sorry you don't change!!!

What an intense film! Richard Gere deserves an Oscar for his fine portrayal of a man being forced into early retirement as a sex offender registrar administrator. I will be haunted by this film and his portrayal for a very long time. Not since Anthony Hopkins portrayal of a serial killer has a film terrified and so engaged me. The film opens with a shocking statistic so don't miss the opening credits, Intense and memorable. I think this is Richard Gere's finest role proving the man can act, in this very challenging film. Give the man an Oscar now... He deserves it!

Richard Gere is an employee of the department of public safety and checks up on registered sexual offenders. It's been since 'Internal affairs' that Gere played such a twisted character. The movie doesn't make sense all the time, and the ending is phoned in. But liked it... a lot.
