The Face of an Angel is an evocative poetry of how death pushes man to embrace life and love. But like a poem, it takes deeper wisdom and sharper sense to grasp what the movie really wants to tell.

Winterbottom’s shapeshifting spontaneity has long seemed as much limitation as virtue, characteristic of a filmmaker unable or unwilling to commit to his own better ideas. Here, you feel him hedging around his subject, less out of sensitivity than a constitutional evasiveness, an inability to formulate a clear line of argument.

I have not been so bored! The best thing about this film was Cara, who turned out to be a really good actress. I saw the film at the London film festival and can honestly say that I wish i had done some else for an hour and half instead. The film has very little to do with the Amanda Knox case, but is instead a tedious film about journalistic ethics and behaviour. Save your money for another film.
