A homely maid and a scarred ex-GI meet at the cottage where she works and where he was to spend his honeymoon prior to his accident. The two develop a bond and agree to marry, more out of loneliness than love. The romantic spirit of the cottage, however, overtakes them. 67/100. An unusual film, a fantasy romance with a rather clever plot. Dorothy McGuire is quite good and very well cast, Robert Young is not so effective, but he does okay. It's a little too sentimental for my taste but it is beautifully done. The cinematography is very well done and enhances the story.
