Another of Chow Yun Fat's decent but unspectacular early forays into Hollywood, it has a nice gritty feel and an interesting culture clash backdrop. Not up to the standard of his HK films, but a creditable cop thriller.

Solid from start to finish. Fantastic stuff.

A memo to Chow Yun-Fat: Get back to Hong Kong on the double!

Overall a very good movie. It suffers from pacing problems in the middle, but it recovers nicely in the end with a very good climax. Yun-Fat Chow is as always great, and Wahlberg who was still pretty new to acting at the time didn't embarass himself.

Of all the wannabe Hong Kong action films that came out in the 90's, this one is probably the best as well as most underrated. Perhaps it's because it's one of the only immitators that understands there was much more to Hong Kong cinema than stylistic gunplay that made it so provocative.
