The Cable Guy (1996)

When recently single Steven moves into his new apartment, cable guy Chip comes to hook him up—and doesn't let go. Initially, Chip is just overzealous in his desire to be Steven's pal, but when Steven tries to end the 'friendship', Chip shows his dark side. He begins stalking Steven, who's left to fend for himself because no one else can believe Chip's capable of such behaviour.

Hilarious and dementedly fun movie! When it first came out it apparently either went over peoples heads or Jim Carrey's psychotic behavior and dark tone threw people off. Not me, this is by far one of my favorite movies and watch it at least a couple times a year and it never gets old. Jim Carrey is absolutely genius in this movie. I don't understand all the hate this gets. Ben Stiller, Judd Apatow, and Jim Carrey really came up with something special.

A brilliantly funny movie. Just goes to show top movie critics often do now recognise true brilliance in a flm when it stares them in the face. Jim Carrey at his comic genius best as the zany product of a generation raised by the TV babysitter looking desperately for someone he can call a true friend drags the ever nervy Matt Broderick deeper and deeper into trouble over one little sin of getting some free cable he is at one moment his best friend next his worst nightmare Carrey has to be the ultimate manipulative control freak. He portrays his character so well and is perfectly paired with Broderick. This movie is great on many levels prepare to take a trip on the 'information super highway' and be thoroughly entertained.
