The Cable Guy (1996)

When recently single Steven moves into his new apartment, cable guy Chip comes to hook him up—and doesn't let go. Initially, Chip is just overzealous in his desire to be Steven's pal, but when Steven tries to end the 'friendship', Chip shows his dark side. He begins stalking Steven, who's left to fend for himself because no one else can believe Chip's capable of such behaviour.

A good comedy about a serious subject; our adiction to the tv

Nice movie and great actor. But, I never though this will ended with such unexpectable scene. Some people said " I though Jim was always be the good guy".. Can't believe that? That's the fact what actor must can do to make a movie goes right and challenging.

C'MON. THIS MOVIE IS FUNNY AS HELL. ONE OF THE FUNNIEST MOVIES I'VE EVER SEEN. MAYBE IT'S HATED BECAUSE, PEOPLE DON'T FIND THE STORY INTERESTING. I PERSONALLY FOUND THE STORY REALLY INTERESTING AND I FOUND THE ACTING TERRIFIC ESPECIALLY FROM JIM CARREY. HE MAKES THIS CHARACTER LOVABLE IN THE FIRST HALF AND YOU FEEL BAD FOR HIM IN THE SECOND HALF. I LOVED IT. I GIVE THE CABLE GUY *****.

I don't understand why everybody hated this film so much, as it is a fun, quirky, twisted, and even frightening at times comedy. The Cable Guy is one of the smartest movies I've seen, as it uses the terrifying subject of an obsessive stalker and uses it to its comedic advantage. Jim Carrey gives the best performance of his entire career, and the chemistry between him and Matthew Broderick is simply a joy to watch. The climax of the film is superb, as it joins every plot point in the story together, which works perfectly to its advantage. Not only does The Cable Guy succeed in being a laugh-out-loud comedy, it also succeeds in being an off-putting psycho thriller, proving that this is by all means one of Jim Carrey's better films.
