Reasonably entertaining film that fails as a comedy but is made watchable because of the presence of Karloff and Lorre.

A slightly daft comedy farce set in an big old house populated by the likes of Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre, who are both excellent. Boris has the cellar kitted out like Frankenstein's laboratory which looks great.

A goofy screwball farce. It's not that funny, but it's amusing and Boris Karloff is fun in it.

Ken Hanke 01 Nov 2011

The joys of the film -- and there are some -- come almost entirely from the interplay of Karloff and Lorre.
