Fun film. It mocked a lot of the postmodernist tropes of current cinema, actually portrayed rural characters as more than one dimensional monsters and called out the postmodern coastal elitist set on some of their unselfaware hypocrisy. All the characters had more depth than you'd expect. I actually cared about more than one person in this which surprised me. Some inventive kills and it's an all out glorious SPLATTERFEST. It's nice when folks in the entertainment industry remember that their primary function is to "entertain.

Simply a terrible film. A compilation of all the worst elements of horror movies. Characters are poorly written and dull. None of the decision making makes sense. It almost seems as if the movie intentionally made the characters dumb. It runs for about 80 minutes but felt like a 2.5 hour movie. It was the longest feeling movie I have ever seen for how short it is. This movie is going to make you upset, so only watch it to appreciate how bad it is.

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a deeply miscalculated mix of incoherent social commentary and over-the-top gore.

A beautiful work of bloodstained art. What seemed at first to be a underhanded slap in the face to "middle America" turned out to be a entrail laden slasher masterpiece. With solid casting pretty good performances and TOP NOTCH special effects and cinematography. It's The anti VVitch and is better for it.
