Movie full of mindless murdering, I really dont understand why this movie gets so much praise.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the first popular youth slasher. In general, it is surprising that such a genre was born and popularized only in the 70s. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre can be forgiven many flaws, this is the first film in the franchise, the first film and can be said in the genre (other films were sure, but they did not get such fame). The film has a very stretched beginning, the whole action begins to take place closer to the middle. Surprisingly, the suspense is not bad for the slasher in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The final part generally looks very good. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre looks more interesting than the first film in the Friday the 13th franchise.

This was very unsettling and disturbing, the last 30 minutes is a wild ride, legit shock when the grandpa stuff starts kicking off.

This abattoir of a movie boasts sledgehammers, meathooks and chainsaws, and the result, though not especially visceral, is noisy, relentless, and about as subtle as having your leg sawed off without anaesthetic. It's notable only for taking woman-in-jeopardy about as far as she can go.

I went into this movie with high expectations because of its reputation. And had I seen this in 1974 when it was released, those expectations may have been met. But that is not the case. The plot was good but not detailed. It had so many gaps. The acting was bad especially the last surviving girl who just kept screaming till the movie ended. There was no scene which made any impact except the the scene when we are first introduced to Leatherface. The pace was good and running time was also sufficient. But at this running time they could have easily made a detailed movie, which they didn't. Overall, I do not understand how this movie became so popular. If I saw it when it first came out my opinion might be different but for now, I didn't like it that much.
