This is a five star movie, without question. Vincent was his typical captivating self (this would be my 3rd Gallo film, so I'm a Gallo semi-pro); he carries this film, but his co-stars hold their own. In my humble opinion, this was a postmodern masterpiece. There are very few films that combine all of my favorite aspects of life: poetry, dysfunction, music, and stunning visuals. This is one of those films. I need the soundtrack. And I need to watch this film again.

I've seldom, in recent years anyway, seen a film that so skillfully utilizes composition, sound, hard cutting, and visual tricks to tell its story. The problem is that it's a story that's barely worth telling

Coppola's interesting take on a really annoying type of person. Gallo plays this kind of character well and, here, he plays it smarter and more interesting and less shrill. Verdu is as good as ever but wearing more clothes than Y tu Mama Tambien...

While not perfect, I can honestly say this is one of my favorite films of all time. Possibly even my favorite. I feel as if I watch it with fresh eyes each time and am always moved by what Coppola has created. Also, Vincent Gallo's the man.

Tetro is a delirious surprise -- an experimental film from Francis Ford Coppola that has the sizzle and vim of his great narrative work.
