Not terribly creative, but far from being a rip-off, this essential Canadian slasher is well worth visiting. It has a somewhat humble charisma that allows it to stand above other genre entries that suffered from the inevitable decline in quality (not quantity!) that occurred as the 80s continued. Jamie Lee Curtis kicks ass.

Of the countless slasher films that would follow in the wake of Carpenter's Halloween, Terror Train is one of the best. While the story may be a bit formulatic it serves up some tight suspense, good cinematography, a nice music score, and another great performance from scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis.
