Not very thrilling but Gere does a good job as does Bai Ling. The political slander is quite heavy handed but i guess if the cap fits.... . I am sure the script could have been better but the agenda just got in the way too much.

I am sure Chinese law system is not so stupid as to treat and try a foreigner so arroganty as they show in the movie. The writers have to think of something more novel to make a movie based on Chinese communism.

Gere gets arrested by the Reds behind the Bamboo Curtain. Some good moments here with Bai Ling, especially as it seems Gere initially might not get out of his predicament.

Gere's talentless as far as I'm concered but this looked pretty good. I only half watched it though eh.

This was high drama and I thought it was well made, I'm not looking at it for a judgement type movie which seemed to have gotten him in trouble with China, but I thought is was very good. I loved his lawyer in the movie and thought she was excellent in her part. I think it his best drama.
