2 Days in the Valley is witty and bracing in its own right, and it shouldn't be buried under extraneous comparisons to Pulp Fiction.

One of the best "ensemble" (whatever that means) movies I've seen. James Spader is a bad ass; Jeff Daniels is outstanding. Shows how twisted we really are (okay it doesn't get THAT twisted).

2 Days in the Valley will rank high on any list of films containing the greatest number of scenes in which people are threatened at gunpoint. Marked by a wearying amount of hostile and antisocial behavior by its criminal and civilian characters alike, writer-director John Herzfeld's debut outing features a measure of unexpected humor and some good character work by the ensemble cast.

OK, it's a Tarantino inspired movie. One of the better ones. Before you bitch about it remember: Everyone associated with this and the way it got you into the theater was predicated upon knowing it was Tarantino-like. Would you have watched it if it was advertised as a John Herzfeld film?
