Taking Woodstock (2009)

The story of Elliot Tiber and his family, who inadvertently played a pivotal role in making the famed Woodstock Music and Arts Festival into the happening that it was. When Elliot hears that a neighboring town has pulled the permit on a hippie music festival, he calls the producers thinking he could drum up some much-needed business for his parents' run-down motel. Three weeks later, half a million people are on their way to his neighbor's farm in White Lake, New York, and Elliot finds himself swept up in a generation-defining experience that would change his life–and American culture–forever.

A sweet & funny story about the life of one young man that made Woodstock possible.

A true-to-life movie I presume. The setting is during a pivotal moment in american history, yet it strays more towards the homeland story. Personally, I have always been curious as to what the hippy movement was all about, and what this "woodstock" endeavor was. I now know. This flick was part documentary, part film, and the flick in itself is a reminder of cultural history. You can take many things from Taking Woodstock. I enjoyed the culture shock, and the chance to witness a moment in the human... universe. As far as the acting, nothing special.

Never been a big fan of Ang Lee, but his style works well for this oddity of a film. An interesting look at the people behind Woodstock.

I loved/love this movie, Oh how I wish i was at WOODSTOCK, wasn't even born back then, but damn i wish it would come back.. PLEASE! ..and that people could actually be loving and free and just enjoy the music and the company of each other. Although i would have loved some more music in the movie and shoot at the actual stage. Well it was fun seeing it, beening there would have been the BEST tho.

This film accurately depicts the time period. There is major talent showcased here as well. I really enjoyed it. I think the fact that it iappealing to a specific demographic is why some are left cold in viewing this. I think it is very different, not cliché?and a major work of art. Loved it.
