One of the best, if not , the best concert film ever put on film. The Cinematograpy is outstanding, and the use of Split-Screen makes some of the performances come even more to life. The Director's Cut is almost 40 minutes longer than the Theatrical cut, and at a running time of almost 4 hours, you would think it's lenght would hurt. Not at all. There are too many good performances not too have a lenghty film. A Masterpiece in sight and sound.

The greatest music documentary ever made. This film is a great time capsule of the music, mood, and the look of the counter-culture of the late 1960s. CSN&Y, The Who, and Joe Cocker make standout performances. Recommended.

this was the greatest event that ever happened, Rock N Roll. Janis Joplin,arlo guthrie.Crosby ,stills and nash. Joe macdonald and the fish.canned Heat . AWESOME.

The concert was so damn big that this film finally gave someone a legitimate reason to use the split screen. The Who. Janis Joplin. The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Santana. And they don't even give my favorite performance. That title goes to Sly and the Family Stone, who play a set so funky and energetic that they're probably the only group I can think of that truly merited 3 encores. Anyway, if you're a music fan chances are you've already seen it. If you aren't, then this will turn you on.
