An incredibly well-acted drama, with the exception of River Pheonix. This was a riveting story of a man taking his family back to nature and then ironically recreating everything that they had left behind.

Probably one of my favorite performances outta Ford. Brave, rare & vulnerable. An overall great cast, story and still poignant even today.

It is also one of Harrison Ford's best character roles; the eccentricity and opinionated genius of Allie is done to perfection by him. River Phoenix is also Excellent!!!
