This is a fantastic film which shows the unseen anguish of families and friends of killed soldiers in Iraq. On seeing the description then I didn't expect to cry as much as I have. It's utterly moving with a lot of heart. Kevin Bacon played a brilliant part - the fact that it is based on a real soldiers final journey home made this film even more special - Chance Phelps and other soldiers like him will live on through this film. It was brilliant, I'm still crying whilst I write this

A deeply touching and moving story of about the journey home for a U.S. Marine who was killed in Iraq. Based on a true story of PFC, Chance Phelps (please forgive me if I spelt his name incorrectly) of the U.S. Marine Corps. Kevin Bacon does an outstanding job of playing the military escort who is bringing Chance home. The director, actors, and producers should all be commended for up holding the honor and dignity that these hero's deserve. I was deeply moved by this film and believe that every American should see it.

It makes a huge difference if the anonymus fallen soldier suddenly has a face. I do not think - as one reviewer here - that the movie over-exaggerates the common person's respect for our troops. Having worked for an airline I can only confirm the stories depicted. My fellow agents and I always tried to do whatever we could to make travel for our troops (not just the escorts) easier. Flight Attendants and Pilots will often go out of their way to recognize the troops on board. And a fallen soldier is always treated with the utmost respect, as is his escort. The movie was extremely realistic and very emotionally touching. Especially if you have a family member in service, as I do. But even if you don't - this movie will move you!
