really pretty film, relaxing you just kinda take a journey with the characters. scary as shit when that bird looks at the camera though, very unsettling.

This gentle film with surprising dollops of humanistic humor floats by like a dream upon which we are eavesdropping.

These moments, enjoyable and arcane, may not add up to a masterpiece. But they're uniquely Weerasethakul's.

3.8/5 Ive always felt its terribly dangerous for a film to explore the contrast of a situation over another through direct exposure to its dreariness, but aside from moments where the poetry strayed too far from what it had established, it was quite mesmerizing.

You've got to be patient with this one. More patient than me, you see. The first half is sort of repeated in the second half and somehow the second half is more interesting... maybe because the camera actually moves. It's got a couple of cute moments, and is well, if sort of boringly, shot, but is mostly just rather unengaging.
