1975: A 200-ton blue whale gets washed up on a local beach and the kids think it's the biggest thing that's ever happened in Australia. Behind closed doors, the Mums and Dads of a quiet suburban street are going to celebrate in their own special way, by joining the sexual revolution and throwing a wife-swapping key party. This is a great film. It's hilarious yet frightening to think that those of us who lived as children in the seventies survived the experience. And that those of us who are parents now have not done such a bad job after all. So many amazing reminders. Cracker night terrible cars. No ideas about safety. No parental control or supervision. Childhood was fun then. Too serious. Yes I get it. This is a great film and will become a brilliant Australian classic. Although it helps to have been brought up in the 70's for it to make any sense. But hey stick with it. It's worth it. Brilliant.

Terrible I have never reviewed a movie before but felt compelled as it was so bad, I'm a big fan of some of the cast members so that made it even more disapointing. I grew up in the 70's the movie was totally overdone unbelievable and stupid, just terrible beyond words

Swinging Safari is a real look back to our past, an Aussie comedy-drama that feels like a perfect snapshot of the suburban childhood that a lot of people remember. It's not for everyone and I dare say that if you were born post 2000 you're going to get a lot less out of this than those who were close enough to this time period for stories and photos to still be a major part of our lives but for those who remember and those who were there, this is the kind of film that one should be watching on Australia Day with a coke and a really nice choc top, ready to enjoy a good laugh.

What a pile of crap. The producers took a lot of trouble to show accurate visuals of the 70's, which was great, but the dialogue, acting and script were garbage.
