Takes the sport of swimming and makes it exciting in a cinematic context, the real highlight comes in the characterisation and humanistic performances (including a suprisingly excellent turn from Ex-Neighbours Jesse Spencer)

Incredible. It Made Me Cry & It Was Just So Hard To Watch When You Can Relate. Some Families Can Rise Above Their Uncertainities & Massive Hardships..They Are So Much Stronger For Doing So. I Applaude Such Stands.

[b]DVD[/b] First Viewing, 1 Mulcahy film seen [i]Swimming Upstream[/i] is painfully mediocre. Geoffrey Rush and Judy Davis are fine performers, but director Russell Mulcahy keeps them grounded. The supporting performances are too bland and the screenplay is too empty to have any lasting effect on its audience.
