Swimming with Sharks (1994)

Guy is a young film executive who's willing to do whatever it takes to make it in Hollywood. He begins working for famed producer Buddy Ackerman, a domineering, manipulative, coldhearted boss. When Guy also finds out that his cynical girlfriend, Dawn, has been using sex as a career move, he reaches his limit. Guy decides to exact revenge on Buddy by kidnapping him and subjecting him to cruel and unusual punishment.

Great movie, had actually forgotten about it until recently when it has been played on IFC.

Devilish satire about the behind-the-scenes activities of a major Hollywood movie studio. Kevin Spacey gives a tour-de-force performance as the impossible-to-please studio head. Works as both satire and drama, with a surprise ending that'll blow you away.

I really loved this. The more I think about it the more I realise the inspired methods behind it. Good characters, tense situations, humour and a fucked up ending. SPOILER: Guy was just as corrupted by the industry as Buddy was. In the end both characters can relate to each other because they have lost their only true love, and what's more Buddy finally respected Guy for challenging him, for having some balls and in that he saw promise. It's painful and twisted, planned and merciless.
