After her brother's death, Roma Courtney becomes the heiress to his fortune. When a fake psychic claims to have a message from her dead brother, he coaxes her into participating in a séance. While her fiancé first believes the séance is nothing more than a scam, he eventually realizes that the vengeful spirit of an executed murderer has possessed Roma's body.

A weird low-budget film from Paramount about the occult...

Carole Lombard highlights this very light horror outing as a executed woman murderer comes back to inhabit the body of an innocent society girl. Randolph scott simply stands nearby and is supportive. Alan Dinehart impresses as the malevolent focus.

What makes the film work is really found in its occasional shock effects combined with its utterly straight-faced acceptance of the supernatural and the overall atmosphere it generates.
