And i tought that critics should review movies as they are and not what they are supposed to be. Super Mario Bros. is in my humble opinion, a really interesting interpretation of the games, we went to a nonsensical ''Wizard of Oz'' kind of world to something that came out of Blade Runner, and the whole ''dinossaurs'' thing? i tought it was a pretty neat concept, and it is explained really well in this movie, just like everything else. There is flaws, i know, but hell, even the best of movies had flaws like the ones we have here, right? and the characters are well developed, we know their personalities, we would know more if there was an extended cut of this film, which would be incredibly awesome, watch this with an open mind, just because it's not like the games, doesnt mean it's bad, hell, the Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings were nothing like the books, and no one flipped when they came out, right? how about this one? this also deserves some love.

I love this movie. I watched it as a kid and enjoyed it, now I watch it with my kids. Its a great kid movie.

Easily the greatest video game adaptation ever filmed and one of the best fantasy action movies of the 90s. It's that kind of edge of your seat entertainment rarely seen any more. Dennis Hopper is a brilliantly three dimensional villain with some of the best work of his career. Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo make for one of the best screen duos of all time. The effects are spectacular and haven't aged since its release. The story of the princess and the lost society of dinosaur people is among the most awe-inspiring and beautifully tragic yarns in the last 50 years. The creativity at work has not been truly equaled since. Something must be said of side-splitting comedy with more flair and variety than all the Police Academy movies put together! An American classic indeed!

This was a very good and entertaining movie. I am huge fan of the video games and I loved how they changed this up and made it more grittier and adultish. Great job. I ignore and laugh at the ignorant trash that hates on this.
