I don't know why this did bad, it's a really good movie. The acting is really good and it has respect for the original. It is as good, no but it does well telling its own story.

Spellbinding, gritty, violent remake of the 70's version. I can't compare it to its earlier version, but I am intrigued now to check it out. James Wood is compelling, as usual, portraying a nasty shell of a human being whose fate nobody will mind. You do have to let your imagination figure out the conclusion, but it is a decent and very exciting ending. Be prepared, cuz it's gonna get gross!

To call out any remake as specifically "unnecessary" is a dash down a rabbit hole, but the mere existence of a 2011 cover of 'Straw Dogs' is, all things considered, befuddling.

A disturbing but compelling film with very good performances.James Marsden shows that he can do more than appear in romantic comedies.Kate Bosworth is both cute and sexy and shows she can act too.
