The remake of Straw Dogs loses itself in its final seconds, when David proclaims quietly that he "got 'em all", and the film lingers too much on the aftermath of this carnage. There's a parallel here between what David and Amy have just overcome and the script that David is working on, but stating as overtly as the film did robs it of its power. This line was in the original as well, but the final coda of Peckinpah's film that lingers between Niles and David ("I don't know my way home" "That's okay - I don't either") had a powerful political context at the time of its release in the US (a nation fresh off the Vietnam War, when the long-term wounds of which were just beginning to materialize). The remake doesn't quite reach that level of depth, but it is an expertly crafted, intense and thrilling picture nonetheless.

Drags a little throughout the beginning and middle, but leads us into a gruesome ending!

Very thrilling crescendo, but with a long time before the movie really starts... Nice main actor, who will surely have a nice carrier, after its previous appearence in 'x-men' and in 'the box'...

I thought it was a really good movie had some good action and it was all round a messed up movie but it was just very good and it was little crazy at times but it worked for this movie

My initial thoughts at the end of the movie was WTF!! Anyway i thought this movie was good well the ending anyway didnt see it comin at all. The beginning was a bit slow and it really picked up pace after the guy went hunting and they raped his girlfriend. Even though he was educated and looked like a nerd he really stood up and fought to the end. I love the ending with the fighting and killing and the survival mode they moved into. Also i think his wife got some closure there as well. This is a movie not everyone will like, but it was interesting and violent but once u get past the first 40mins it all good from there.
