Stark Raving Mad (1983)

Nebraska 1958. Richie Stark was no ordinary killer. What made him different was that he wasn't running from murder - he was looking for it! Laura Ferguson, his adolescent girlfriend, just wanted to escape, but after the senseless murder of her father, she soon found herself on a road to hell. This is the true story of two young delinquents who in just a few days in 1958 raised hell along the highway, fell in love, and slaughtered seven innocents.

not the usual SWS but still a good step up

Scott carries this film because it is not strong enough to do that itself. While it is the same old heist plot, the style it is done in is more new age and pumping throughout, this works to an extent.

If you are having a bad day where nothing seems to be going right or a day when you feel as if the walls are closing in all around you. WATCH THIS MOVIE. You will feel better. Stark Raving Mad is a hilarious, dark comedy that doesn't disappoint. Over the coarse of one night, the somewhat morally questionable protagonist Ben McGewan (Seann William Scott) leads his crew of outcasts on a highly profitable, highly risky bank robbery. As the night unfolds, complications arise. Can Ben and his accomplices manage to emerge unscathed. It is definitely worth watching to find out. Parts of this movie may seem crude, chaotic, or stark raving mad at times, but who's life isn't.

I'm assuming this movie is better when on speed. Couldn't make it past the 93rd shot of people dancing in the club, complete with dozens of split-second camera angles. (Roughly 22 minutes in.)

One of those Rainy day afternoon movie rentals. Good music and decently entertaining.
