Animals can accept man and live along . However man chooses to kill them and live alone . This unnatural behaviour shows that mankind does have one purpose - to destroy anything logical and live.

I'm not sure why this a negative reaction, but it may be due to the slow pace and deep-rooted "thinking movie". It's not that i think that only "smart people would "get it". The film was easy to understand, but it required some backround that the film din't suppl enough of. And- i think most people just want to relax after working, and braniac films are NOT the movie most want to and be (and i use the term loosely) entertained by what they watch. So, if you're at home on a quiet night and won't have to miss several minutes of the movie you might like it. I watch it the first time on a hungover Sunday in spring during college, so my constant use of Nature's Finest Flowering Plant* and sheer exhaustion might have put me in the perfect situationt to absorb all it's subtleties.

Instinct is my 5th favorite movie. I first saw this movie when i was younger and really just liked that one scene where that one patient is whereing a helmet and is knocking his head into the wall and then he cracks his head open. Later i would see it and like it for much more reasons. Anthony Hopkins acting is truly impressive and the background music by Danny Elfman is some of his best work. There are so many lines and quotes from this movie that are very moving and have deep impact to me.
