Star Spangled Rhythm (1942)

Pop, a security guard at Paramount has told his son that he's the head of the studio. When his son arrives in Hollywood on shore leave with his buddies, Pop enlists the aid of the studio's dizzy switchboard operator in pulling off the charade. Things get more complicated when Pop agrees to put together a show for the Navy starring Paramount's top contract players.

Paramount released this musical comedy, the first of the all-star WWII revues. This one benefits from big stars and a good score, including "Hit the Road to Dreamland" and the Oscar-nominated "That Old Black Magic."

A funny movie full of Paramount movies top billing actors and actresses at the time. This Movie is actually a bunch different "skits".But there are a lot of good parts like for instance "A sweater, A sarong,And a peek-a-boo bang" was a joy to see As well as Bing Crosby singing "Old Glory", And Bob Hope getting stuck in a shower with William Bendix And trying to Hide. This movie also gives us Betty Hutton's first big role. She is trying to climb over the fence to get into Paramount studios. If you Love classics this is a must see!
