Third of the Universal FRANKENSTEIN series and, though not as good as BRIDE, still delivers. Nice seeing Sherlock Holmes still get work.

It's hard to top Bride, the previous entry in the Frankenstein series, for sheer madcap energy, so perhaps it's wise that Son of Frankenstein plays more like a morbidly brewing murder mystery than a monster movie. Rathbone has great charisma as the now-interchangeable, obligatory mad scientist, and Boris Karloff still maintains his iconic presence, but this feels like the first time The Monster becomes a prop in his own film.

Troisieme et dernier episode de Frankenstein avec Boris Karloff, on regrettera la disparition du personnage de Colin Clive, mais l'apparition de Bela Lugosi en manipulateur du monstre fera penser a la version Sleepy Hollow de Burton qui rendait deja hommage a Frankenstein dans la scene du moulin

This film is on par with the original and, fortunately, seems to ignore everything about the terrible second film in the series, The Bride of Frankenstein. Although I'm still very confused about where Igor came from but, other than that, the plot seems to make sense. The actors are great. I especially liked the cute little boy! The ending is great and it leaves you wondering what's going to happen next.
